AS I noted over a year ago, the likelihood of Joe Lieberman endorsing a Republican is very real. I predicted a three way split in the Democratic Party between the Clintonistas, Obamites and Truman Democrats (Lieberman's lot).
Well, having seen Joe campaigning with McCain I was wondering if the Senator from Connecticut would go one further and address the Republican Convention - just as Zel Miller did in 2004? Although Lieberman has one of the most liberal voting records in the Senate, such a move may tempt some of his wing of the party to back McCain, especially when Arizona's Senator has regularly distanced himself from the President. Therefore voting for McCain would be like voting for an independent, a maverick, rather than the Republican Party candidate.
Just a thought, but if you see Lieberman at the 2008 Convention in Minnesotta - you know where you heard it first!
