I THINK this issue is best left to the armed forces. As much as I feel a great sense of pride when I see our forces in uniform, I have a horrible feeling that this issue will now become far too politicised.
There's obviously a safety issue here as some uniformed troops will inevitably be targeted. If this issue gets anymore than 24 hours in the headlines I fear that David Cameron will bring it up at the next PMQs making it a party political issue. Hell, it could probably appear in a party manifesto. Through fear of political parties exploiting this issue, I think this issue should be left to the armed forces or individual regiments rather than the government.
