Advocate of tax cuts, individual liberty, global free trade, a realist foreign policy... and dismantling the welfare state. These views are mine and mine only. They have nothing to do with any organisation or organisations with which I am affiliated. Because realism works!

How much is your blog worth?

Hmm… odd… when I tried this link I was informed ‘sorry Newsnight Scotland is not available for download’. This could just be part of the Paxamist Newsnight distain for all things Scottish - or it is indeed odd, given that the Thursday (I think) online edition of the Herald started off with a feature that rapidly vanished? The feature gave much scope to numpty Scottish Labour MP Donohoe’s total backing for Wendy Alexander’s abrupt volte farce (on including the Scottish independence option in any referendum). He was essentially saying ‘oh aye she is right dead right, see me and my constituency party, we demanded this nine months ago’. Hilariously, with unintended irony, he went on to acknowledge that some in the Scottish Labour Party would have liked to have been consulted by Wendy before she made her announcement… before he went on to assert that ‘we must trust the people’ - what, we must trust a party ‘trust the people’ that does not consult with its own members to????
I’ve often wondered about the journalistic objectivity of the Herald given that some of its lead journalists or, I understand, are/were Labour Party members or at the very least fellow travelers.
The final sentence in my first para above should have read:
"Hilariously, with unintended irony, he went on to acknowledge that some in the Scottish Labour Party would have liked to have been consulted by Wendy before she made her announcement… before he went on to assert that ‘we must trust the people’ - what, we must trust a party to ‘trust the people’ that does not consult with its own members????"
Sorry for the typos, I must have been laughing too mcuh at the time at the irony!
